The Buffalo High School Forensics team will take on all comers ready for an argument at their Forensics Fight Night Fundraiser Tuesday evening at 6 pm.
Walter Farwell, Forensics Coach at BHS, explains what the fight night is about.
The Fight Night will give the public an opportunity to debate with the students, see how talented they are, and to help the students prepare and raise money for for the National Forensics Tournament, for which four students from BHS have qualified.
Brian Schuler, Dennis Zezas, Cody Giles and Katy Giles have all qualified for the National Tournament, which will take place later this summer.
The Fight Night is a fundraiser as well, Farwell said, but the event is free to attend. However, he says that donations to help defray costs to send the students will be accepted.
Farwell was asked how Forensics helps students prepare for life, and he explains.
Fight Night will feature topics that will help the students prepare for Nationals, and then after a short recess, suggestions will be taken from the audience, Farwell said.
The idea is for the public to come in, have some fun watching the kids do what they do, and raising money is a bonus, he said.
Fight Night will be Tuesday, May 31st at 6 pm at the Buffalo Theater, and the public is invited to attend.
