Cameron Duff, who’s director of the Sheridan County Library System, said he’s starting work on a plan to re-open Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library and the branch libraries in Story, Clearmont and Ranchester.

Speaking at Wednesday’s meeting of the library board, Duff said he has received direction from the state library to put a plan in place for how the libraries will re-open to the public.

The libraries have been closed since around the middle of March. Sheridan Fulmer library has continued to check out materials to people who request them by phone, but no services have been provided by the branch libraries.

Duff told trustees Wednesday that the planning is for eventuality only. No date has been determined for when libraries in Wyoming will be opened again to the public.

Duff said he will be meeting by phone with commissioners Thursday to discuss the library system’s draft budget for the fiscal year that starts on July 1.

Turning to other matters, Duff said he has reached out to the library’s major donors with regard to the Fulmer Capital campaign.

He said each of the foundations want the campaign to continue, and all of them want to see the Fulmer library roof replaced this summer if possible.
