The City of Sheridan is once again offering full-time employees voluntary buyouts this year. The City is looking to reduce payroll by approximately $300,000 to $400,000 to help with the projected $1.6 million shortfall in the 2012 general fund budget.
City Human Resources Director Heather Doke explains that the buyouts that they are offering are very similar to what was done last year.
The City is looking at a reduction in force of approximately eight employees.
Last year the City laid off eight full-time and two part-time employees. Doke said that the voluntary buyouts will be available until Monday, May 16th at 5 o'clock.
