The Johnson County School Board called a special meeting Monday night and the main topic of discussion was how the district is dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic.

The district has closed all schools until Friday, April 3rd, when they are expected to re-evaluate the situation in the community.

Superintendent Jim Wagner briefed the board on where things stand and what the district will be doing to provide learning opportunities for students in the coming weeks.

Wagner said all but two school districts in the state had closed because of the coronavirus concerns as of Monday’s meeting.

The plan for Johnson County Schools, at this time, is to remain closed through April 3rd, and resume classes on Monday, April 6th, but the situation is constantly changing and will be evaluated as the deadline gets closer, according to discussions at the meeting.
