Following back to back seasons winning the 2-A girls volleyball and basketball state titles head coach Mike Daley stepped down as coach this spring. Last night the district one school board made it official both programs have new head coaches the next volleyball coach for the Lady Rams is a familiar name in Sheridan county. Jamie Laya Harvey is the new head coach she played her high school volleyball at Tongue river high school and then went onto play four years in college at the University of Wyoming. The next basketball coach for the Lady Rams is a familiar name for Big horn players and fans as long time assistant coach Wayne Hall takes over he's had been Daley's assistant coach for the past several years and is also a Rams assistant football coach. Big horn activities director Christy Wright says change is a fact of life in coaching*Wright says they made great choices in selecting Harvey and Hall to take over both programs*Friday night the school is giving parents, players and fans a chance to meet the coaches with a meeting in the Big horn high school gym*That meeting will be held at 7 o'clock.

The annual Big horn mountain wild and scenic trail run gets underway Friday morning at 6 o'clock with the start of the 100 mile race. The 50 mile, 50k and 30k races will start Saturday morning the elite 100 mile runners are expected to finish early in the morning Saturday with the bulk of the field finishing Saturday afternoon. Spectators are welcome they will have live music and food in Scott park in Dayton for all runners and spectators Saturday afternoon.

The Sheridan Troopers are on the road today for a double header in Cody they return home for games Saturday afternoon against the Billings Lobos that double header will start at 1 o'clock.

Kendrick golf course and the Sheridan country club will host a two day two person best ball tournament this weekend. the tournament is the 1st annual Peggy Buss memorial to benefit the cancer foundation they will have both men's and women's divisions. the 1st round will be played at Kendrick Saturday and 2nd round will be played at the country club for more information contact Kathy Oatts at 672-2732 or Donna Madia at 672-5966.

The Colorado Rockies put their eleven game winning streak on the line last night against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Rays blasted the Rockies hitting five home runs they jumped out to a 5-0 lead and took the game 12-4.
