Department of Ed. Releases Graduation Rates

The Wyoming Department of Education released the 2008-2009 graduation rates for School Districts around the state on Tuesday. Sheridan County School District Three was one of two School Districts in the state to have a perfect 100% graduation rate for the 2008-2009 school year.

District Three K-12 Administrator Charles Auzqui says that while the District's numbers may be small, they have always set their standards very high.

Sheridan County School District One also faired rather well, their graduation rate was at 92.7%, while District Two came in at 78.4%. The report also indicated that the state level graduation rate for 2008-09 has risen to 81 percent which is up from 79 percent for the 2007-08 school year.

Wyoming had a total of 5481 students graduate in 2008-09. The 2009-10 school year graduation rate will be released next spring.
