Rep. Madden on Decline in Standardized Test Scores Across Wyo.

The Casper Star-Tribune recently reported on a statewide decline in standardized test scores across Wyoming. Based on 2012 figures released by the Wyoming Department of Education this month, scores on the Performance Assessment for Wyoming Students declined in every subject for elementary and middle school students compared to 2011.

At their meeting Tuesday, the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners rejected a series of bid packages for construction at the Sheridan County Airport. Three separate packages were introduced by airport manager, John Stopka, who recommended the commissioners not accept the bids.

After two hours of public comment at their Tuesday meeting, the Sheridan County Board of County Commissioners voted 4-1 against the controversial riparian management amendments. Commissioner Terry Cram was the lone vote in favor of the proposed regulations, which would have established a buffer zone on certain areas of private property adjacent to a stream or river.
