Bikers Against Bruises a Success

The rumble of motorcycles could be heard Saturday morning as
over 70 riders took part in the 2nd Annual “Bikers Against Bruises—No Excuse for Abuse” motorcycle poker run. 

It all began 10 a.m. at the Sheridan Holiday Inn as riders took off to the top of the Big Horns with stops at the Elkview Inn, then on to Greybull, Worland, Buffalo, and finally returning to Sheridan.

WEA-PACE Issues Political Endorsements

This past Friday, the Wyoming Education Association Political Action Committee for Education, or WEA-PACE, released their endorsements of 42 candidates in this year's election.  Among those endorsements are Mike Massie, a Democrat, for Superintendent of Public Instruction; Matt Mead, a Republican, for Governor; and Democrat Leslie Petersen for Governor.

Buffalo City Councilman Speaks Out About Project

The Buffalo City Council recently approved a $50,000 allocation in their budget to help fund the Buffalo Development Association's Crazy Woman Square Project in downtown. The project consists of three phases and would cost approximately $3 million to complete.

Nathaniel "Ned" Solon says a computer virus infected his computer with illegal images of children. He was convicted in 2008, and the 10th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals in Denver upheld the convictions.

The local Colgate Country Showdown competition, sponsored by KYTI 93.7 The Coyote was held Friday night at the Best Western Sheridan Center. There were nine contestants who competed to move on to the state competition. In the end the Eric May Band out of Gillette took home the top prize.

Going Toe to Toe With Cancer

Twenty teams gathered at NSI Friday night to celebrate the lives of those who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and raise money to fight back against the ravages of the disease. This was Sheridan’s 18th Annual Relay for Life. Ninety-seven percent of the money raised will be used to help find a cure for cancer and Relay for Life committee member Carrie Brantz says that’s a worthy goal.

CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Federal regulators have cited a Washington state company in connection with a 2008 crane collapse at a Wyoming coal mine that seriously injured three workers. Lampson International of Kennewick, Washington, owned the crane.
