Johnson County retired its Special Purpose Sixth-Penny Sales Tax on December 31st of 2016, and as of January 1st of 2017, the sales tax in the county has reverted back to the traditional five-percent level.
Jesus Rios and Kelly Gooch were elected President and Vice President of the Sheridan City Council at their first meeting of the year Monday. The Council voted unanimously after Councilman Thayer Shafer nominated the pair and Councilwoman Kristin Kelly seconded the motion.
Registration is now open for the Sheridan County YMCA’s first Art Night according to Y Arts Coordinator Tyler Rogers. The program will be on January 20 from 5:30-7:30pm and is open for kids in grades 2-8.
Sheridan County commissioners approved three roads in the Powder Horn Ranch Planned Unit Development, and elected Steve Maier to serve as chairman for the coming year in their first meeting of 2017 Tuesday.
