State Championship At War Memorial Stadium

This year the High School Football State Championships were played at War Memorial Stadium in Laramie. They had the cannons going off every time a team scored, a great medical team on hand and the big lights shining down on a university field. In short, players were able to get a feel of what it may be like to play football in college.

Snowmobiles Restricted In MT Wilderness Area

BOZEMAN, Mont. (AP) - A National Forest official says the agency is imposing new restrictions on snowmobiles in a wilderness area south of Bozeman in response to a recent ruling from a federal judge.

Gallatin Forest Supervisor Mary Erickson says snowmobile use in the Hyalite-Porcupine-Buffalo Horn Wilderness Study Area will be limited to just two areas.

The annual Friends of the Library Auction was once again a big success. Hundreds of people gathered at the library, and many took the time to place bids in both the silent and live auctions. Snow Is Causing All Sorts Of Travel Trouble In Southeast Wyoming

CHEYENNE, (AP) - Light snow is causing slippery travel conditions in southeast Wyoming, especially in the Laramie area. Eastbound lanes of Interstate 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne were closed Friday afternoon for a short period but remained slick and snow covered when they reopened. Other highways in the Laramie area were also slick and snow covered.

Books For Babies Arrives At Hospital Again

Most educators will tell you it’s never too early to start reading with our children. Some Tongue River Elementary School students have taken that to heart. Each year the second grade class raises money to purchase books that are given to babies born at Sheridan Memorial Hospital. The “Books for Babies” program has become quite popular.

Lummis Speaks To Capacity Crowd At Sheridan County Courthouse

United States Representative Cynthia Lummis held a town hall meeting yesterday at the Sheridan County Courthouse. The Commissioners meeting room was filled to capacity with people discussing a wide variety of topics. Some of the questions asked of Lummis concerned wilderness areas, fairness doctrines, cap and trade, and healthcare.
