Cost of Living Formula Switch Could Mean Cuts for District 1

Legislation could change the formula the state uses to calculate cost of living adjustment for school districts. Cost of living determines how school districts are funded each year to pay teachers, and the change could mean cuts for 31 districts across the state, including Sheridan County School District 1.

Sheridan Community Land Trust announced Monday the protection of a donated conservation easement: the Headwaters of McCormick Creek, a ranch donated by Charlie Hart of the Big Horn area.

The Sheridan Senior Center will apply for a Community Development Block Grant from the state to conduct a site specific feasibility of the existing Senior Center facility. The Sheridan County Commissioners approved a resolution Tuesday sponsoring the grant application.

The Buffalo/Johnson County Justice Center Joint Powers Board had their meeting Tuesday afternoon and opened bids for work to fix problems at the old jail.
The building will be renovated and repaired to possibly be used by Volunteers of America or other entities for office space.
