Jail Project in Hardin Begins to Unravel; Man Promising Prisoners is Wanted in Wyoming

BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - A California company's bid to take over an empty jail in rural Montana appears to be unraveling. An attorney involved in the project cut ties Friday and a second company once named as a subcontractor denied any involvement.

Several Dozen Show Up To Support March Against Violence

Temperatures were only in the 40’s as several dozen people marched from the Sheridan County Courthouse to Grinnell Plaza on Saturday. October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month and the March Against Violence is an annual event in Sheridan sponsored by the Advocacy and Resource Center.

Visiting Koltiska Pumpkin Patch Becoming an Autumn Tradition

The Koltiska Pumpkin Patch has allowed families to come out to the Koltiska farm and pick there own pumpkins. The Koltiskas have been doing this for the last five years; before that they sold their pumpkins to stores around Sheridan for eight years. They grow all pumpkins out at their farm. Malcolm Wallop Honored By Game And Fish Department

Earlier this year the Sheridan County Commissioners renamed the Sheridan County Airport terminal building the Malcolm Wallop Terminal. Former United States Senator Malcolm Wallop from Big Horn received another honor yesterday, as well. The Wyoming Game and Fish Department named their Lake DeSmet public access point after Wallop.

Sheridan Has Several New United States Citizens Today

It’s not very often that Sheridan County courts allow cameras and other recording devices into the courtroom. Friday was an exception as 8 new United States citizens were sworn in. 4th Judicial District Court Judge John Fenn explained to a crowded courtroom his feelings on the naturalization ceremony.
