Bid Made to Buy Northern Wyoming Ski Area

POWELL, Wyo. (AP) - Three Powell residents have signed an agreement to purchase the Antelope Butte Ski Area and are seeking approval from the U.S. Forest Service.

Wednesday City Council Work Session Discusses Transportation Plan Survey Results

A Sheridan Transportation Policy Plan was presented at the Sheridan City Council noontime work session yesterday. Jeremy Klop with Fehr & Peers out of Denver, Colorado went over the results of the past three public input meetings that have been held over the past month. He is heartened by the response.

Saws Board Still Undecided On Future Of Administrator Position

The Sheridan Area Water Supply Joint Powers Board is still pondering what to do about the Administrator position. The Board agreed to form a sub-committee that will work on the County's proposal that was brought forth last month.

Saws Moves Forward With Proposed Rate Changes

The rate structure for SAWS customers will likely be changing in the next couple of months as the board approved moving forward with a two-tiered rate structure. The two-tier system will raise the base rate a bit for the casual user, and decrease the rate for the large users. SAWS Administrator Dave Engles.

Embossed and Veteran Specialty License Plates Available Beginning The 1st Of The Year

Armed forces veteran specialty license plates and embossed plates approved by the 2009 Wyoming Legislature will become available next year. Both of the plates carry a $50 fee, in addition to the standard $15 state registration fee and the county registration fee calculated based upon the vehicle's value.

President of Sheridan City Council Comments on Police Chief Hiring Process

In an effort to be as transparent as is legally possible, Sheridan City Council President John Bigelow will be submitting a Guest Opinion letter to the Sheridan Press regarding the selection process for candidates to replace the Sheridan Police Chief position.

Sheridan County Recreation Board Considers Rules of Operation and Opening Date of Kleenburn Recreation Area

Tuesday morning the the County Rec. Board spent their meeting time going over the Resolution of the Notice of Intent to adopt the rules governing use of the Kleenburn Recreation Area.

Sheridan County Commission Takes Action on Several Agenda Items

It took an hour the the Sheridan County Commission Tuesday to click through a 17-item agenda, passing everything they considered. A February 26, 2010 Circuit Court date has been set for James and Katie Swaney on an order setting an access hearing date for their application for a private road.
