Story Fish Hatchery Remains Closed For Construction Projects

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department’s Story Fish Hatchery will remain closed to the public until July of 2010. The hatchery, which has been the most widely visited hatchery in the state, has been under construction and renovation since 2007.

Wyoming State Troopers Still Out In Full Force For Operation CARE Campaign

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is once again taking part in the Combined Accident Reduction Effort, better known as Operation CARE. The campaign kicked off the day before Thanksgiving and will run through the weekend.

Thunder Basin Prairie Dog Plan Adds Link To The Food Chain

Strengthening the food chain could help an endangered species climb to healthy numbers. It’s the premise behind the newly-unveiled plan for managing black-tailed prairie dogs on the Thunder Basin National Grasslands. The goal is better habitat to boost the number of prairie dogs to the point where Wyoming-native black-footed ferrets could be reintroduced.

There Will Be Fewer BLM Lease Sales Next Year In Wyoming

GILLETTE, (AP) - The Bureau of Land Management office in Wyoming is reducing the number of oil and gas lease auctions in the state from six to four in 2010 because of a lack of interest in drilling. There have been significantly fewer lease sales in Wyoming in 2009 compared to 2008.

Christmas Stroll Bigger Than Ever
