Johnson County Planner Rob Yingling has been working on a Request For Proposal (RFP) to perform surveys on zoning regulations, and brought a number of changes he made back before the county commission at their last meeting.
The planner said changes included the telephone surveys as tasks the consultant would perform, and asked for them to conduct a pre-survey conference call with the commission to get final approval on the survey questions.
They discussed the possibility of adding survey questions about putting either the library expansion project or the new recreation center on next year's ballot to gauge public support for either or both.
The commissioners then discussed the possibility of having a review board to go over the consultants findings once completed.
Yingling explained the most difficult part of the RFP
Yingling said some of the consultants he has contacted so far won't do telephone surveys, but he would continue looking for more that would, to give the commissioners more options to choose from.
The commission opted to table the decision until their next meeting December 3rd.
