Coming up this July, Sheridan High School junior Josh Lobo will be attending a unique leadership forum in Washington, D.C. Called the "National Youth Leadership Forum on Law and Crime Scene Investigation," the forum will introduce students to challenging careers in the legal profession.
Josh tells us he's had an interest in law for quite some time.
A movie buff, Josh says he has an interest in going into some kind of contractual law having to do with the film or multi-media industries.
The curriculum for Law and CSI is based on actual events, which allows students to learn from the examples set by attorneys of law, and court officials from municipal court to the U.S. Supreme Court. Lobo describes some of the things the participants will do.
Some of the schools he may get to visit include the University of Maryland School of Law, Washington College of Law at American University and Howard University School of Law.
Lobo credits his teacher, Mrs. Shirley Coulter, for keeping his interest in law studies alive, and he plans to take more law and government-related classes during his remaining time at Sheridan High School.
