This past weekend, Santosha Yoga sponsored a workshop focusing on how yoga practices contribute to healthy aging.
Physician, acupuncturist and yoga instructor Baxter Bell from Oakland, California, helped participants look at skills and qualities addressing the advancing of age and age related changes to the body and mind. One session focused on stress and aging.
Bell says recent studies also indicate that yoga promotes a healthy aging process.
The basics of yoga center around a physical practice, a breathing practice, and a mindful awareness practice and can be modified for each individual.
Bell will be leading a week-long yoga retreat at Feathered Pipe Ranch in Montana next July.
