This year's Trees for Trash community event will start Saturday morning at 9.
This year's free tree will be a Crabapple, courtesy of Landon's Greenhouse. Anyone who brings trash to either the U.S. Bank parking lot, or larger loads to the city landfill, can dispose of their items for free and get a tree as a keepsake. Charles Martineau, Superintendent of the City of Sheridan's Solid Waste Division, Charles Martineau.
All day Saturday will be another free dump day at the landfill, but there are a few housekeeping items to keep in mind.
Martineau said the goal of Trees for Trash and the Free Landfill Day is to make Sheridan a better place to live.
Trees for Trash is a cooperative effort between the City of Sheridan, Landon's Greenhouse, U.S. Bank, E.R.A. Carroll Realty, and, of course, Sheridan Media. The City Landfill will be back to regular business Sunday.
