This year's Jefferson Award winner has been announced, and it is Alta June Pool of Sheridan. Pool was recognized for her over two decades of volunteering for the AARP and a lifelong commitment to volunteering in general. Alta June says she's excited to have received the honor, but still is experiencing some disbelief over the whole thing.
Pool explains that at a very young age her father taught her the value of helping others.
Pool will be headed to our nation's capital in mid June to represent Wyoming for the National Jefferson Award. Alta June says that she will continue to volunteer for the AARP and the Sheridan Senior Center.
