Wyoming Workforce Award Nominations Open

The Wyoming Workforce Development Council will be hosting the Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions this June.
The Wyoming Workforce Development Council will be hosting the Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions this June.

The 2011 Governor's Summit on Workforce Solutions will be held in Riverton June 9th and 10th, and five outstanding Wyoming employers, individuals and / or projects will be recognized. This will only happen, however, if people send in nominations, which are now open.

Jon Conrad is the Chairman of the Wyoming Workforce Development Council. He says he's looking forward to reviewing the nominations.

The five Workforce Awards are: Innovation in the Workplace; Workforce Partnership; Outstanding Individual Performance; Outstanding Investment in Young Workers; Outstanding Investment in Older Workers.

Wyoming Department of Workforce Services Director, Joan Evans, will assist the Council in presenting the awards at the Summit in June. She says.

Descriptions of the five awards are as follows:

Innovation in the Workplace – presented to an employer that is committed to investing in the development and well-being of their employees and Wyoming's workforce.

Workforce Partnership – presented to a project that has demonstrated a unique collaboration between businesses and community organizations that include, but are not limited to, the workforce system, economic development and education which results in addressing a workforce issue.

Outstanding Individual Performance – recognizes individuals who have made significant contributions to the workforce development profession through the development or enhancement of public or private workforce systems, or the building of strategic alliances and partnerships.

Outstanding Investment in Young Workers – presented to an employer that is committed to investing in young workers.

Outstanding Investment in Older Workers – presented to an employer that is committed to hiring training and retaining older workers.
