CHEYENNE, (AP) - Snowpack across Wyoming stands at 70 percent of average and water managers are predicting low spring runoff. The Natural Resources Conservation Service in Casper released its weekly snowpack measurements on Monday. It's the first assessment of the water in Wyoming snowpack this spring season.
The drainage area with the lowest snowpack in the state is the Upper Green River, with just 50 percent of average. The Upper North Platte is highest, with 88 percent of average. The snowpack last year at this time stood at 88 percent of average statewide, with even the lowest basin having 68 percent.
