On Friday, the Sheridan County Sportsman's Association began hosting an event that drew hundreds of shooters from around the country throughout the weekend. President of the gun club, Bob Prill, explains.
The gun club's parking lot was packed Friday, Saturday and Sunday for the statewide competition. Though there are hundreds of expert shooters who've registered, qualified and competed – just over 300 - Prill says participation is actually down. But he says out of state shooters often out number Wyoming residents in the competition.
Prill invites anyone interested in learning how to shoot trap to stop by the gun club. He says there are plenty of volunteers and fellow shooters who will be more than happy to lend beginners a hand. To get to the gun club, head west down Fifth Street past the fairgrounds until the pavement ends and it turns into Soldier Creek Road. Continue down that same gravel road for about three miles and take a right on Keystone Road.
