More than 240,000 Wyoming residents cast a ballot for Tuesday's general election, according to a media release from the State of Wyoming Elections Director.
All in all, that equates to 57 percent of eligible voters. Secretary of State, Max Maxfield said voter turnout surpasses the 2010 election, and rivals numbers seen in 2008, though the numbers won't be made official until next week. When the election started Tuesday morning, 240,432 registered voters were on the books statewide. With the give-and-take of some voters not showing and other voters completing on-site registration at the polls, overall turnout in Wyoming was 103 percent, according to Maxfield.
