The 2010 Miss Wyoming Scholarship Pageant is coming up the first week in June, and nine contestants will be vying for the crown, currently worn by Anna Nelson of Rock Springs. For the next week, applications are being taken for the Wyoming Princess Program, and co-executive director of the Miss Wyoming Foundation, Kelly Miller-Smart, explains.
Kelly says they're looking for girls in 2nd through 5th grades to apply. The princesses will officially be “crowned” a half-hour before the Miss Wyoming pageant on Saturday, June 5th, and will also take part in the show.
This is the sixth year that Sheridan has hosted the Wyoming pageant, with the number of contestants steadily growing. Miller-Smart says they always try to put on an entertaining show, and describes the theme.
The deadline to apply for the Wyoming Princess Program is Wednesday, May 12th. For more information about volunteering for pageant week or more information about the Princess program, call (307) 673-6898.
