Proposals to draw water from the Green
River in Wyoming to supply Colorado's Front Range are prompting concern among local government officials in southwestern Wyoming.
Pipeline proponents say their projects would use water that the state of Colorado has a right to draw from the Colorado River system. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is preparing an
environmental study of one developer's plan.
However, a recent study by the Colorado Water Conservation Board concludes it's possible that future climate conditions and water storage scenarios could mean that Colorado already is drawing all the water it's entitled to take from the Colorado River.
