CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Wyoming Department of Health Director Dr. Brent Sherard says 12,200 doses of swine flu vaccine have been ordered for delivery to the state this week. This week's shipment follows 3,400 doses of the nasal spray that arrived to Wyoming two weeks ago and 8,400 doses including nasal spray and injectable vaccine that arrived last week.
Sherard says vaccines are the most effective weapon to fight flu. He encourages Wyoming residents to get both the swine flu vaccine and the seasonal flu vaccine. The first shipments of swine flu vaccine are going to the highest risk groups, such as pregnant women, people who work with infants, children and health care workers.
Sherard says he believes swine flu vaccine will eventually be available to every resident who wants it.
