As a state, Wyoming's safety record has either been worst or second worst in the nation for the last decade. Marcia Shanor with the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association says workplace injuries are also a growing concern in the cowboy state.

Last year's number of those killed on the job is much lower than in 2007, when 48 workers died. More thank half of workplace injuries in Wyoming entail transportation accidents.
