Wyoming Examines Workers' Safety

Today marks Wyoming Workers Memorial Day, and this year, the state will be honoring the 23 workers who lost their lives on the job last year.

As a state, Wyoming's safety record has either been worst or second worst in the nation for the last decade. Marcia Shanor with the Wyoming Trial Lawyers Association says workplace injuries are also a growing concern in the cowboy state.

There's a commemoration in Capser this morning to remember the important work that needs to be done.

Last year's number of those killed on the job is much lower than in 2007, when 48 workers died. More thank half of workplace injuries in Wyoming entail transportation accidents.
