Wyoming 4-H Program Offering Trip to Mongolia

The Wyoming State 4-H Office will select 28 youth and five adults for a trip to Mongolia as a part of a 13-state Enhancing Global Perspectives in Youth exchange.

"The American Youth Leadership Program with Mongolia is a great opportunity for youth to experience international travel and learn about other cultures with minimal cost to the participants," Youth Development Specialist Warren Crawford said in a media release.

"Not only will participants have an opportunity to experience and learn about global issues, they will make connections and build friendships that will last a lifetime."

According to the release, a $267,434 grant from the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs funds the project, administered by the University of Wyoming Extension Office.

The month-long trip will begin with departure on June 21st and the group will return on July 20th. Youths must be at least 15 but no older than 17 when the trip starts.

Kids from Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah and Washington can also apply for the exchange.
