A landslide on US 14 east of Sheridan at Jim Creek Hill forced the Wyoming Department of Transportation Tuesday to re-route traffic around the area to make it safer for the traveling public. WYDOT Public Involvement Specialist Ronda Holwell says that they've had their eye on the slide for a while now.

Holwell said that motorists need to use caution and slow down when traveling through the affected area.

Holwell stated that this particular type of slide is what's known as an embankment slide, which occurs when the ground under the roadway moves or shifts.
