Wyoming News Service, Casper, WY - Big wildfires in the forest backcountry through the West are often blamed on pine bark beetles, with the thought that those diseased and dead trees present a higher fire risk. The West continues to see one of the worst outbreaks of forest beetles in centuries.

Over $35,000 Raised for the Sheridan County Museum Education Project

The Sheridan County Historical Society has received a matching funds grant from the Homer and Mildred Scott Foundation in the amount of $17,778. Contributions from various donors to match the Scott Foundation grant will pay for the Sheridan County Museum's Education Program through 2010.

Sheridan Ice To Hold Their 1st Ever Ice Show This Week

The Sheridan Ice Figure Skaters will be holding the first ever Ice Show at the Sheridan Ice Rink this Thursday. Sheridan Ice Figure Skating Coach Emily Emond says the event is a great way to wrap up the season.

The Ice Show will be this Thursday night from 6 to 7 pm at the Sheridan Ice Rink.

UW Enrollment Numbers Increase Over Last Spring

LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) - The University of Wyoming reports that
spring enrollment increased nearly 6 percent over the same time last year to about 12,500 students.
The enrollment numbers include an increase of about 500 students at the main campus in Laramie.
