At their meeting this week, the Johnson County Commissioners got an update from Planner Rob Yingling on the synopsis compiled by WWC Engineering on the recent public meeting with residents near the NW Water Pipeline Project.
Yingling said according to the synopsis there was at least some interest from residents to form a SID, or Special Improvements District, to then be able to hook onto city-owned water supply lines for residential use, but that none of the residents was sure how to proceed to make this happen.
Yingling said he had heard there were residents trying to organize meetings within the community to discuss the matter further and determine the amount of interest there.
Yingling asked the commissioners what they wanted county officials to do, if anything, to help the process along.
WWC Engineering and Yingling will set up a workshop for the residents to help them understand the process, and the commissioners approved him to use his time to help residents in the area as much as possible.
