In an effort to address the public's concerns regarding the condition of the elk pasture in Sheridan, a task force was formed to formulate possible upgrades that would benefit the animals and the community.
City of Sheridan Parks Director Chuck Carbert explains that some of the upgrades are nearly complete, while others will still take some time.
Trees are being planted to provide some natural shade for the animals and viewers. Mayor Dave Kinskey says that when done, the elk pasture will be something the community can be proud of.
Carbert said that the majority of the project should be complete in the next few weeks, and that the seeding and planting of trees will be an ongoing process that the City's Park Staff will continue to work on over the summer.
