Empower Wyoming, a group that offers self-defense, personal safety and boundary-setting training to people of all ages, will be meeting early next week in Buffalo and Sheridan. On Monday, training will take place in Buffalo between 6 and 9 p.m. And on Tuesday, an additional session will take place in Sheridan at the same time.
Director of Empower Wyoming, Francine Russell, says women of all abilities are welcome - but attendees must be at least 14 years old. The cost is $50 per person, or $25 for those who have already taken a workshop with her before.
Russell says the program teaches women vital personal safety skills, so they can avoid ending up in situations where you might have to fight to defend your life. But, she says just in case, women will also learn how to fight.
People can contact Francine Russell with any questions or to RSVP at 620-1511.
