Empower Wyoming will be presenting a women's self-defense workshop this Tuesday in Sheridan.
Empower Wyoming does teach physical fighting, but the training gives women skills to avoid dangerous situations first, according to Francine Russell, Director of Empower Wyoming.
Empower Wyoming has given a number of training sessions to women and children in the Buffalo area, but this is the first class given in Sheridan. The hope, Russell said, is to eventually have regular classes in Sheridan and elsewhere in the state.
The workshop will be at the Holiday Inn in Sheridan Tuesday, March 13 from 6:30 to 8:30pm.
There are still some spots available for the class, but those interested must pre-register due to a limit on the class size. The cost is $35 per person and is open to those age 14 and up. Sign up by calling 620-1511.
