Sheridan police say they arrested a woman on an outstanding warrant after she accidentally called 911 from her cellphone.
Sgt. Travis Koltiska says 42-year-old Robyn Kapperman called 911 on Wednesday, identified herself to police dispatchers and acknowledged her phone had dialed the emergency line, accidentally. She also gave her location.
A quick background check revealed the warrant, and police were sent to the location to make the arrest. On Sept. 1, Kapperman had been issued a ticket for failing to show proof of vehicle insurance, and later missed her court date, which resulted in the warrant.
The sergeant says 911 hang-up calls are common, but each miss-dial is investigated to ensure the caller is not in trouble.
