CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) - Many truckers have parked their rigs in southeastern Wyoming rather than risk driving in high winds. The Wyoming Highway Patrol says two semitrailers blew over on Interstate 25 near Cheyenne on Monday afternoon. One driver was slightly injured.
The Highway Patrol says the conditions prompted many other truckers to park on the emergency lanes to avoid driving. Winds also knocked down some trees in Cheyenne. The National Weather Service in Cheyenne says the highest wind speed recorded on Monday at the airport in the city was 69 mph at just after 3 p.m.
