Banff Film Festival Saturday Night

Saturday night finished up last week's Earth Day activities with the Banff Mountain Film Festival World Tour held at the WYO Theater.

Organizer, Edith Heyward was thrilled with the attendance.

The film festival takes a look at the exhilarating and inspiring exploration of the mountain world.

Other Earth Day activities for the week included the 5th Annual Miniature Art and Music Auction and Sheridan's Earth Day Festivities.

But through it all, one theme rang true for all events...being good stewards of what Mother Nature has given us. Heyward says it's all about leaving a legacy.

Shanon Short, coordinator for the City's recycling program, has a mantra, “reduce, reuse, and recycle.” She says it's all about taking responsibility.

Brad Mohrmann, coordinator for Sheridan's Earth Day activities, says there's just something special about what our part of the country has to offer.

Earth Day is observed on April 22nd each year.
