During last year's harsh winter, there was a large number of deer that died north of Gillette. Wyoming Game and Fish Information Specialist Warren Mischke explains that there were a number of elements that came together that caused the deer to die.
Mischke said that regardless of how cold the temperatures may get, as long as wildlife can have habitat for cover and food, they typically can make it through the roughest of winters.
