There has been some talk lately in the local medical community about some abnormally high numbers we are finding in the area. Jan Ritola, who is the Director of the Family Planning of the Big Horns in Sheridan, explains

So how much higher are our numbers?

Jan says that while we know the HPV virus is the culprit, we don't really know why our numbers are so much higher in this area, although more sensitive testing methods we use could account for a portion.

And there is another piece of this puzzle which may--or may not--come as a surprise to some people

The State Department of Health is currently investigating the high rates of abnormal paps in this area.
