Late last week SEEDA Board members Dave Kinskey and Molly Steel along with SEEDA Chairman Dr. Paul Young met with Sheridan Quality Child Care Initiative Chairman Paul Del Rossi and SQCCI Accountant Steve Rucki about what lead to the demise of the Hand in Hand Childcare Center in Sheridan.
The representatives from SQCCI presented SEEDA officials with the 990 tax form for the 2010 fiscal year for the now defunct childcare center. SEEDA Chairman Paul Young says that during the meeting with the SQCCI reps, it quickly became apparent as to why the center had to close after only a year and a half of operations.
Young said that there were a number of factors that lead to the net loss.
The deadline for applicants to reply to the request for proposal of occupancy of the facility is this Friday at 5 pm. SEEDA hopes to have a future tenant selected for the Board's approval by the August 23rd meeting.
