The Johnson County Recreation District Board denied a funding request from the group responsible for trying to bring a new sports complex to the city, but that hasn't killed the project, according to Buffalo City Planner Zach Montgomery, who is helping the group organize, get approved and acquire funding for the project.
He said the group was disappointed in the rec board's decision, but they will move on in the planning stages and try to get support for the project.
He said it was unfortunate they didn't get the local support from the board they were looking for, but they know they have support from hundreds of people in the community who have written letters of support and petitions in favor of the project.
Montgomery explains what they will do next.
The survey, Montgomery said, will appear in this week's Buffalo Bulletin.
