Most of us have a pretty good understanding of what the function of the sewer system is, but what about some of the things that end up “down there” that aren't neceassarily supposed to be flowing through the City of Sheridan sewer lines. Sheridan Media's Ron Richter has the scoop.
Coins, rings, cell phones, and of course various children's toys are just some of the things that City of Sheridan crews have found luring in the sewer lines below the City. Ken Hirschman is the Utility Maintenance Superintendent for the City of Sheridan and he says that while they do encounter a number of odd items, some things that they find can end up being dangerous.
Hirschman says that one simple call can avoid a whole lot of potential problems.
Hirschman said that a lot of the City's assessment of the sewer lines has taken place over the past decade, and that a lot of the problems that they've encountered are from a long time ago before the City had cameras that are able to go down into the sewer lines.
