Heavy springtime precipitation and a record breaking snowpack that led to flooding and landslides along various highways were factors that resulted in tourism statewide and locally being down for the early part of the season.
Sheridan Travel and Tourism Executive Director Penny Becker said that things did begin to pick up after what was an anxious start to the tourism season.
Becker said that while the local tourism season was generally flat this year, it was a big enhancement when compared to last year at this time.
