Consistently hot days have hit Wyoming, and the Sheridan County Wellness Council will hold a Hyperthermia Awareness event for Safe kids Sheridan County from 10 am to 3 pm this Saturday out in front of Wal-Mart. Executive Director, Teddy Aaras, talked about why they are promoting awareness.
Aaras said that though the issue may seem like common sense, it is important for individuals like fathers who don't usually transport children, and all types of guardians – not just mothers – to be made aware of this issue.
A car can heat up as much as 29 degrees in as little as 20 minutes, according to Aaras, so even seventy degree days can be dangerous.
The event will have indoor and outdoor temperature gages, three cars provided by Hammer Chevrolet along with plenty of handouts.
