It's gone back to committee, but House Bill 112 has caused a few ruffled feathers especially for those that work in the service industry as waitresses and waiters. The bill would require employees to pool their tips and split it between other staff.
Call it a redistribution of wealth on a smaller scale, employer mandated pooling of tips could threaten the income of servers prompting this week's Bank of Sheridan/Sheridan Media poll question.
“Should it be legal for employers to pool tips for distribution among several employees?”
