Who's doing the choosing? When it comes down to elections or appointments, it's either the people making the choice or bureaucrats putting people in positions.
Legislation has been filed that would make the Superintendent of Public Education a appointed position instead of the elected position it now is and which Cindy Hill now holds and was elected to. Senate File 104 would create a new director of the agency who would be appointed by the governor, ousting Hill.
