Lawmakers in Cheyenne are working on a bill that would make the state's seat belt law more strict.
The Senate voted 16-13 Thursday on Senate File 51, giving preliminary approval to a bill that would allow police officers to pull over drivers for not wearing seat belts. It would also increase the fine to $75 from $25.
This week's Bank of Sheridan / sheridanmedia.com poll question asks your opinion about the bill: “Should not wearing a seat belt while driving be a primary offense with the fine being increased from $25 to $75?”
