This weekend will wrap up the Johnson County Fair and Rodeo with the final days at the fairgrounds, but other events throughout the community will also be going on.
Angela Jarvis, Director of the Buffalo Chamber of Commerce, gives a sampling of the various happenings.
Even with all the other events, the highlight will obviously be the Fair and Rodeo Parade which starts at 10 am. The parade route will be from South Main Street near the Moose Lodge through downtown to East Hart Street at First Interstate Bank.
More than 60 entries have already been taken, according to Jarvis, and more are expected with a final number, she thought, of 70 or 80 entries. She said that number for a non-election year is exceptional. The announcers for this year's parade are local favorites Larry Brannion and Dan Gay, who will keep the crowd entertained downtown.
The Grand Marshall of the 2011 Parade is long-time Kaycee resident Jo Harlan, whose family has a long tradition in Johnson County's sheep industry.
