It's time to take a look back at a few of the top stories from this past week with our Sheridan Media Week in Review. On Tuesday, Wyoming Superintendent of Public Instruction Cindy Hill held a news conference in response to the Wyoming Supreme Court ruling that that the Legislature acted unconstitutionally in January of 2013 when it stripped her office of essentially all responsibility for public education. Here's a brief excerpt from what Hill had to say.
A day after the court ruling, State Representative Mike Madden, who was on the committee investigating Hill for alleged misconduct during her first two years in office, said in an interview with Sheridan Media, that the Supreme Court's decision changes the dynamics of the upcoming budget session.
The Sheridan County School District Two Board of Trustees hired the predecessor for soon to be retired Sheridan High School Principal Dirlene Wheeler. Brent Leibach, the current Principal at Highland Park Elementary in Sheridan will take over the role as principal for the high school. Leiback has been principal at Highland Park for the past four and a half years.
