It's time once again to take a look at some of the top stories from this past week with our Sheridan Media Week in Review.
Monday's Sheridan City Council meeting ended with a bit of a surprise, as Ward 3 Councilman Levi Dominguez announced his resignation from the council.
The Sheridan County Chamber of Commerce held their annual business awards where Warehouse Market/Killy's Deli won Business of the Year. A teary-eyed Cindy Boyd, standing alongside her father, Roger “Pat” Killworth, accepted the award from Chamber Board President Wendy Smith.
A man from Wyarno driving a Chevy Silverado crashed into a train Wednesday night that crosses a state highway about seven miles east of Sheridan in Sheridan County. 43-year-old Daniel D. Twohy died at the scene. Authorities say the railroad crossing lights and bell were activated as the coal train crossed the highway, but the driver, who was eastbound, made no attempt to brake and slammed into the side of the train, striking the 73rd railroad car. The driver was not wearing a seat-belt.
